Keely Hodgkinson concluded her 800m campaign with a win at the all-female Athlos event in NYC on Friday night. {The reigning Olympic champion, who secured third place at the World Championships recently, excelled in an outstanding win in one minute 56.53 seconds in what was just her sixth appearance in a year affected by a hamstring injury. Compatriot and world silver medallist Georgia Bell took the runner-up spot again in 1:58.33, while St Vincent's Shafiqua Maloney (one minute 58.57) secured third place. "I've barely raced this year so it was probably easier for me to go out there and be motivated to perform," stated the 23-year-old. "The environment out there is incredible so it was really, really fun." The female-exclusive event filled Icahn Stadium in its second year, introducing a party atmosphere to traditional track, with live music and Tiffany & Co. crowns substituting standard medals. The 23-times tennis major winner Serena W., who is married to Athlos founder Alexis O., was on hand to present the winners with their crowns. Previous champions received $60,000 (£44,603) - one of the largest prize purses in athletics. The event also attracted some of the sport's biggest names, as Kenya's three-time Olympic gold medallist and global record breaker Faith Kipyegon triumphed in the mile race, finishing in four hours 17.78 minutes.
